Thoughts, and more.

Do you have the courage to tell a blind man that beauty is in the eye of the beholder? What would he say? Would he take a swing at you with his cane or would he sic his dog after you? Would he become sad at the thought of not knowing what beauty looked like in its true form?

Or, would he laugh at whoever asked him, shaking his head then saying, "Beauty isn't worth its weight in gold unless you can feel it. Don't brag about what you can see, you can see all you want. Are you really satisfied without being able to touch it?"

This post has been brought to you by the annoyances and pressures to look good with the turn of every page of a woman's magazine.

Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly is to the bone.

WTF BOLLYWOOD?!

Watch this trailer. I really enjoyed this movie, even though I didn't understand...98% of it. Good action flick, check it out.

Choosing A Path

Life is full of tough choices, many of them which bear the weight of consequence and struggle. And again, I refer to the worthiness of struggle. We all must at some point, and through it all we have to keep in mind that we aren't alone, nor are we singled out from the rest of the world when we feel pain. Others feel pain, deeper than we do at times, different types of pain. Whether we lose a friend, a family member or even someone we've never had face to face contact with (thanks, internet) it counts as a loss on some level. Again, we must keep in mind, "This isn't the end, life goes on."

My grandfather passed away in December of 2001, just before Christmas. The day before he passed my aunt left a message on my machine, asking me to call her for updates on his condition. He had suffered a minor stroke, mixed with complications from the flu and had been asleep for the better part of three days. I called her, we spoke and she never once let on how he was doing, only mentioning that he was a strong man as well as stubborn, still holding onto life. He was funny like that. She placed the phone to his ear, resisting the urge to beg for him to wake up I only said, "Hi, guelo, its Carissa...are you ok?"

Then I heard his voice. He sounded weak, but he sounded happy. He replied with, "Hi...si...bien, bien." We stayed on the phone, chit chatting for a few more minutes and then he fell back to sleep. When I can afford to go pay my respects to him, I will hop on a plane to Puerto Rico and pay him a visit. Couldn't travel overseas at the time of his funeral, thanks to 9/11. For now he's in my heart, as well as the memories of him wanting me to sneak him candy without my grandmother finding out.

Are we bound by our own sense of commitment to the memory of another person or is it better that we live our lives, and do right by them? I don't think either one is a terrible path to follow.

Something...New

So, I Slept...

Swimming

The dream of swimming must be interpreted by using all the aspects of your dream to judge the extent of the good or bad signified by swimming. If you dream you are swimming in the ocean coming toward shore you will have good fortune in business and financial affairs through your hard work. To be swimming in a pool shows that you will be unlucky in love and if you see females swimming in the pool you will have luck with love, to see males you will have luck in business, and if you see both you will experience both types of luck. If you are teaching someone to swim you will soon have an increase due to good fortune.

I hope the last one and a half lines of the above passage are about to come true. I dare not give the exact details of the dream I had last night (along with the others), but all in all I've come to find comfort in the hope that I receive from my dreams. Some days 'Dreaming' is the only place I can roam around in feeling free, unjudged and happy. Completely. Yes, that may sound a little pathetic yet, it couldn't be more true.

Shop News!

I run a shop over at Zazzle.com

I spoke to a good friend over the internet this morning and he suggested a few things that would help benefit the way my shop is going. He helped me collaborate on a few ideas After hearing his thoughts, his suggestions and pointers I took them into very deep consideration and just today, he helped me realize that I would really like to take selling a bit more serious than I have. Not just as a hobby, but as a job along with a few other things I have planned as far as working goes. So here, I present to you an idea: A section of my shop area with nothing but products that you can customize. That's right, its all you. Add any text you want, in any color on any shirt in any style, size and color that you can find. Oh yeah, you can even upload your own images from your computer and place it onto a product. Create personalized gifts for yourself or someone you know. If you find that convenient and cool, head on over to my shop and check it out!

Unknowns

Here are a few things no one has ever really known about me:

- For my 11th birthday 1 I received "A Tale Of Two Cities" as a gift. Read that book in a week, followed it with "The Andromeda Strain". Yes...reading is fun, started reading when I was 5.
- Right before I graduated high school, a friend and I liked to wander around the town cemetery...it was seriously the only place around that had peace and quiet.
- I can honestly say that I love both the country and the city.
- I want to die and come back as a vampire just so I can scare the pants off of a few emo kids.
- I can make the spiciest spaghetti on the planet and have anyone who eats it ask for more...while sweating buckets.
- I saw three ghosts or "apparitions" while living at my old house.
- I can only write when it will entertain someone.
- The scent of lavender makes me swoon.
- Chocolate keeps me from eating souls.
- Coffee: My Anti-Drug
- I stay up late at night and listen to music.
- I only read fashion mags and other ones for women because its a good laugh...and the perfume samples even though they suck half the time.
- I can eat while watching gore and horror flicks all the while thinking, "No...not enough pig's blood, take two!"
- While watching movies I have a habit of thinking to myself things like, "No...that's not scientifically possible!" or "Did we really have to see her tits?"
- My middle name is Carmen.
- My first name is of Greek origin.
- I am not Greek.
- I can speak bits of Russian and French. Almost fluent in Spanish.
- I hate Ugg boots. *Twitch*
- In another dimension, I am Spartan 921. ^_^
- In another world, I'm a fighter.
- Errol Flynn is, to me, very sexy.
- I learned how to fence when I lived in KY.

Now that they are known facts about me, your turn!:)

Well...

Today I think I've been more optimistic than most days in the past year, all 5 months of it. For a while now I have had a strong belief that there is more to life than only what we can achieve with help and with reassurance from friends I've come a long way. So much more can be accomplished if we are willing to struggle and sacrifice on our own, if only for a short while hold onto hope while hanging on tightly to the rope and climb it, reaching our goal. I happen to believe the rewards are greatly fulfilling and surpass any feeling we have experienced. Then again, were we made to survive through sacrifice? Is it mandatory we all learn the "Pay me now or Pay Me Later" lesson? Are we really made stronger with each tear, each bout of anger and twinge of inner pain?

I say: Yes.

YES.

We were made to learn. We are born, given an opportunity to feel, taste, touch, see and hear everything life has to offer. We are born, given an opportunity not to waste a moment on self pity or sorrow for ourselves or anger at any "What ifs". Grab that rope, and climb. The rope is only as long as how afraid you are to climb it.

And here, more music. I want to waltz to this. Ghost Of A Rose by Blackmore's Night. Enjoy.
